Greetings and welcome to another Super 2s match report.
Apologies for the lack of recent activity but unfortunately there has not been much to report. As Oz puts it, “we are the Tim Henman of our league, so close and yet so far”

Saturday saw the visit of Biggar in a rearranged fixture from december and the home team were looking to avenge the hammering they had suffered at the start of the season. The pitch was firm in places but overall in great Nick for a game of free flowing rugby.

The early points fell for the home team with a penalty attempt just yards out with Matty Smiths range. The game was quite evenly balanced throughout and Biggar went into the interval two converted tries up. But lass wade had managed to get another penalty over so both teams where still looking to dominate and claim the game.

Biggar scored another converted try but where denied another try in the corner by a stunning defensive effort from Dougie Thomson who bundled the Biggar player into touch, inches from the try line. This spurred the team on and a stunning break by Sean Hadden with a clever chip kick ahead saw a Biggar player casually nudge Sean out of the race for the ball, in great view of the ref who then proceeded to give the try under the posts. Unfortunately Biggar where to have the final say and scored another converted try.

But the guys played there socks off the entire game and everyone of the squad came off the park burnt out. Oz could not have asked for any more heart and passion from the guys and wished they had got more from the game.

Anyway this week sees another home fixture against Edin Accies
so if you cannot travel with the firsts to Weegieland
Then head up to Hawthornden and cheer on the Super 2s
